Alaskan Blawgers
The rank of Alaska lawyer bloggers (”blawgers”) is small.
Stevens Wells, who publishes under the name Alaskablawg, seems to have been the first Alaskan lawyer blogger. He started blogging in October of 2004. Wells has been a PD in Dillingham and an OPA attorney. He’s now in private practice in Anchorage. He blogs about “Law and Life in the Last Frontier,” but mostly about criminal law, often his own clients’ travails.
Next in sequence (November 2006) is Mitch Schapira, a former criminal defense attorney in Anchorage. His blog is titled What We Know So Far. Schapira occasionally comments on legal issues (and not necessarily with an Alaska emphasis), but prefers to unload on George Bush and Bushites.
Alaska Employment Law started in May of this year.
Many Alaska law offices have websites, of course. Some local lawyers groups, like the Alaska Academy of Trial Lawyers, have e-mail lists.
