9th Circuit: Alex Kozinski became Chief Judge today.
Alaska Supreme Court: Dan Winfree will be privately sworn in January 4th, and publicly sworn in on February 11th or 12th, in Fairbanks. His chambers will be in Fairbanks. The Court System will ask the Legislature for a supplemental appropriation to finish the Rabinowitz Courthouse, in part, to construct his chambers.
Alaska Court of Appeals: David Stewart will retire the end of August 2008.
Alaska Superior Court: Doug Blankenship will become the Presiding Judge of the 4th Judicial District on January 2, 2008. The Judicial Council will interview applicants for the seat of retired Fairbanks Judge Niesje Steinkruger on January 4th.
