Alaska Amicus Briefs in 2nd Amendment Case

Attorney Jack McGee of Juneau has filed a brief in support of individual 2d Amendment rights in the District of Columbia case in front of the U. S. Supreme Court.  McGee’s clients are the Alaska Outdoor Council, Alaska Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fund, Sitka Sportsman’s Association, Juneau Rifle and Pistol Club, Juneau Gun Club, and Alaska Territorial Sportsmen, Inc.

Urging the same result (invalidation of the D. C. gun law), but with a different emphasis, is an amicus brief on behalf of “126 Women State Legislators and Academics,” which includes Alaska Senators Bettye Davis, Lyda Green, and Lesil McGuire, and Alaska Representatives Andrea Doll, Anna Fairclough, Gabrielle LeDoux, and Mary Sattler Nelson.  They are represented by Outside counsel.

UPDATE: Senators Stevens and Murkowski and Rep. Young joined with 53 other Senators, 240 other Representatives, and Dick Cheney (as Senate President) in another amicus brief opposing the D. C. law.
