Marijuana:  The Alaska Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the marijuana/home privacy case, in Juneau, on March 20th.  The audio and video are available at Gavel to Gavel.  G2G will broadcast the arguments on April 6th at 7:50 pm.  The Alaska ACLU is represented by staff counsel Jason Brandeis and two national ACLU attorneys.  Allen Clendaniel of Dorsey & Whitney in Anchorage represents amicus doctors.  Dean Guaneli of the AG’s represents the State.

Federal v. state court, for employment cases:  The next Employment Law Section meeting will be April 9th, and will be a joint session with the local chapter of the Federal Bar Association.  Peter Partnow and Tim Dooley will co-present “Employment Litigation in Alaska: federal court or state courts?  What’s a litigator to do?”  Anchorage participants will meet at the Federal Courthouse (GSA Conference Room # 154), rather than the Bar Association offices.
