Troopergate and the law:  The website for the Liberty Legal Institute, which is co-counseling (with Kevin Clarkson) the Anchorage lawsuit against the Legislative Council, is here.   It does not link to the Complaint itself, which I’ve not been able to find on-line.

earlier linked to the Complaint in the Fairbanks lawsuit against the Council, which may also be found at palinfightscorruption.com.  That website also includes the press release from attorney Joe Miller’s office, and the text of Miller’s Public Records Act request to Sen. Hollis French, et al.   On that PRA issue, see Alaska Statute 40.25.122 (”Litigation disclosure”):

A public record that is subject to disclosure and copying under AS 40.25.110-40.25.120 remains a public record subject to disclosure and copying even if the record is used for, included in, or relevant to litigation, including law enforcement proceedings, involving a public agency, except that with respect to a person involved in litigation, the records sought shall be disclosed in accordance with the rules of procedure applicable in a court or an administrative adjudication.  In this section, “involved in litigation” means a party to litigation or representing a party to ligitation, including obtaining public records for the party.

Continuing legal education:  The October 1st meeting of the Employment Law Section of the Alaska Bar Association will include presentations on recent employment law developments from Tom Daniel, Rob Schmidt, and Will Schendel.

Several days later, The National Lawyers Guild will present a half-day training on Representing Solders Who Can No Longer Serve, Friday, October 3rd in Anchorage, and Saturday the 4th in Fairbanks.

AEL programming note:  Gregory Fisher from Birch Horton in Anchorage will take over regular posting for the next week.
