Legislative subpoenas and Troopergate:  In a controversy with some similarities to Troopergate, the D. C. Circuit today stayed an appeal over the enforcement of congressional subpoenas directed to Executive Branch officials, in order to obtain the views of the new Congress.  Congressional subpoenas apparently expire with the term of the Congress that issues them.  Jonathan Adler at The Volokh Conspiracy has a link to the opinion, as well as commentary.

Palin and taxes on per diem:  TaxProf Blog discusses whether the Palins underreported income.  See Alaska Violated State Policy in Gov. Palin’s Per Diem, and then, Gov. Palin’s Tax Returns Are Wrong.

Sedwick on the Sherman Act:  District Judge John Sedwick sat on a 9th Circuit panel that, this morning, affirmed the dismissal of various Sherman Act claims of monopolization, etc.

Bob Bundy and the judge: The Wall Street Journal law blog carries a report on the allegation that Bob Bundy gestured to his client, Bill Allen, during Allen’s testimony in Sen. Stevens’ trial.

Lets say the investigation finds the gov fired Monegan because he wouldn’t do something (?) to Wooten. Whats the remedy? What can the legislature do? As far as I know Monegan isn’t suing for wrongful termination and he served at the pleasure of the gov.
