Pre-termination hearings for Alaska Railroad employees: The Alaska Supreme Court held oral argument on March 18th in Simonds v. Alaska Railroad, S-13157, in which an employee argues that the Railroad denied him a pre-termination hearing guaranteed under the Railroad’s collective bargaining agreement with the United Transportation Union. The argument is accessible through Gavel-to-Gavel here. Chuck Dunnagan represents the employee, and Bill Mede represents the Railroad.
Employee information as trade secrets: In her blawg, Fairbanks attorney Alicia Porter discusses Bank of America’s claim that information about the bonuses its now-subsidiary, Merrill Lynch, paid to its employees is protected by the “trade secrets” doctrine.
