More Alaska Legal Miscellanea: Guns and Pastors
At Alaska Law Blog, Anchorage attorney Jerome Juday writes about Wayne Anthony Ross’s non-confirmation as Alaska’s next Attorney General, and about the 9th Circuit’s recent opinion on the 2nd Amendment.
In Fairbanks, Superior Court Judge Paul Lyle issued a lengthy opinion rejecting church members’ attempt to reinstate a minister fired by the church’s trustee board. The legal issues revolved around which set of Bylaw amendments took priority. John Franich represents the plaintiff congregants. Gregory Silvey (Anchorage) and Matt Cooper (Fairbanks) from Guess & Rudd represent the trustees. Plaintiffs have moved for reconsideration.
05/18/09 addendum: Judge Lyle’s 05/14/09 Order on Reconsideration is here.
