Scope of the Franken Amendment: If NELA is right - that the Franken Amendment applies to all activities of defense contractors, whether or not defense-related - the impact is broad. An almost-current list of the 100 top defense contractors includes four Alaska Native corporations (Afognak, ASRC, Chenega, and Chugach), the major oil companies (BP, Chevron, Exxon Mobil), health care companies (Humana), major construction contractors (CH2M Hill), universities (Johns Hopkins, MIT), and more.
