USDOL Files OSHA Retaliation Suit
The U. S. Labor Department has sued Anchorage-based Alcan Electrical & Engineering, Inc. for retaliating against one of its employees working on Ooguruk Island at Prudhoe Bay, in violation of 29 USC § 660(c)(1). USDOL’s Complaint alleges that Alcan retaliated against Randall Prater for engaging in protected activity when it a) reassigned him to dangerous work; b) discharged him; and c) persuaded other employers to refuse to hire him. Local counsel for the Department are Gary Guarino, AUSA, and Bruce Brown, Associate Regional Solicitor of Labor.
