USSCt: Guidance on Cat’s Paw Theory
After several years of conflicting lower court decisions, the United States Supreme Court has finally offered clarifying guidance on when and whether a supervisor’s impermissible motive may be imputed to employers in employment discrimination cases. This advisory briefly reviews the case, Staub v. Proctor Hospital, and its significance to employers.
